The largest sugar estate in Tanzania covers more than 16,000 hectares of land

TPC was established in early 1930s in Tanzania about 50km south of Mount Kilimanjaro in the name of Tanganyika Planting Company limited.
With more than 16,000 hectares of land, of which 8,000 are under sugar cane cultivation, TPC is one of the largest sugar estate in Tanzania.
The harvesting season lasts about nine months from mid-June to mid-March and all of the cane is manually harvested. 
In 2016, TPC crushed 1,050,000 tonnes of cane to produce 110,000 tonnes of sugar.
